Information and Communication Technology
Program Description
The Information & Communication Technology program is an Associate Degree and Certificate awarding program. Emphasis is placed on handson training in the areas of microcomputer operating systems, applications, programming languages and networking equipment. After completing a degree in the Computer Information Systems Technology program a student will have the skills to fulfill entrylevel positions in computer support and operations, networking and software development fields in the industry.
Career Opportunities
A graduate of the Information & Communication Technology program may become employed in many of the entry-level positions such as Data Entry Technician, Computer Operator, Computer Programmer, Help Desk Specialist, Computer Lab Manager, Database Analyst, Systems Analyst, Network Specialist or Test Engineer.

Earnings for Information & Communication graduates as reported by the 2010-2011 Occupational Outlook Handbook are as follows:
The median annual earnings of a computer support specialist are $43,450 annually.
The middle 50 percent earn between $33,380 and $55,990 annually.
The highest 10 percent earn more than $70,750 annually.
Types of Programs Offered
The Information and Communication Techology Program offers an Associate Degree in Applied Technology - Information and Community Technology with the option to choose an emphasis in
Enterprise Programming,Networking, Software Applications, Systems Administrator, Technical Support, or Web Development.
A Career Entry Certificate is also available in Information Technology, Commercial Applications, Enterprise Programming, Network Administrator, Systems Administrator, Technical Support, and Web Page Developer.
